Dehradun. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami affirmed that the people of Uttarakhand desire both development and stability, and that his government is steering a holistic growth agenda that mirrors this vision. He underscored that by prioritising public‑welfare programmes, the administration aims to ensure that the benefits of progress touch every individual in the state.
The remarks were delivered at the ‘Uttarakhand: Development, Challenges, and the Road to 2027’ event organised by the Adda Insider newspaper on Rajpur Road.
‘Nation First, Organisation Second, Individual Third’ – The Guiding Mantra
Dhami reiterated his party’s core credo of ‘Nation First, Organisation Second, Individual Third’ and said that the government is fully committed to translating this principle into tangible development across Uttarakhand.
He referenced Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s deep ties with the state, noting that the Prime Minister has visited Uttarakhand 28 times since taking office. Dhami added that the Centre has also placed special emphasis on the development of border regions, a focus that intensified after the Prime Minister described Mana as the nation’s ‘First Village.’
Tourism and Sustainable Growth on the Rise
The chief minister highlighted Uttarakhand’s upward trajectory in multiple sectors under the guidance of the Prime Minister. He pointed out that the state now tops the NITI Aayog Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Index nationwide and has earned national accolades for its tourism initiatives.
Uttarakhand is also strengthening its reputation as a premier destination for film shootings, adventure tourism and destination weddings.
Creating Jobs and Fostering Entrepreneurship for Youth
Dhami echoed Prime Minister Modi’s ambition to make India a developed nation by 2047, stressing that the youth will be the engine of that transformation. The state government is expanding avenues for education, skill‑building, employment and self‑employment to empower young people.
He shared that he enjoys interacting with the younger generation not merely as a chief minister but as a friend, believing that listening to their ideas revitalises his own drive.
Ensuring Transparency in Public Recruitment
On the issue of recruitment, the chief minister announced the enforcement of a strict anti‑cheating law, which has bolstered confidence among deserving candidates. He noted that roughly 35,000 young individuals have been appointed to government positions over the past five years.
Reclaiming Over 13,000 Acres of Government Land
Dhami emphasized ongoing efforts to safeguard Uttarakhand’s natural character by clearing illegal encroachments. To date, more than 13,000 acres of government land have been liberated across the state.
The administration’s goal, he said, is to extend development initiatives to the most remote corners while providing youth with opportunities that match their talents and aspirations.
