Haridwar: A 60‑year‑old man passed away during medical treatment after his 27‑year‑old son is accused of hitting him with a stick following a brief domestic quarrel in Chandi Ghat Basti, Haridwar.
Family Row Escalates
According to local reports, the incident unfolded on Friday evening while the father, identified as Pyare, was preparing a meal with his younger child. A disagreement erupted between Pyare and his elder son, Prakash, 27, over a household issue. The argument quickly turned heated, and Prakash is said to have seized a stick and struck his father.
Severe Head Injuries
Witnesses say Pyare sustained serious head trauma and collapsed on the spot. He was immediately rushed to AIIMS, where doctors fought to stabilise him. Despite intensive care, his condition remained critical and he died on Saturday morning.
Police Investigation Underway
Law enforcement arrived at the scene shortly after the assault, securing the area and initiating legal procedures. Prakash has been taken into custody for questioning, and the deceased’s body is being held for further forensic examination.
