Muzaffarpur. In a rapid operation close to Kalyambagh Chowk, constables from Kazimohammadpur police station detained two men found with 80 grams of ganja. The suspects were escorted to the station where Station House Officer Chandrabhushan Kumar Singh recorded an FIR and set legal proceedings in motion.
Wider Sweep and Ongoing Investigation
After the arrests, officers carried out night‑time searches at several sites identified during questioning. Investigators are now piecing together the detainees’ statements to trace a broader drug‑trafficking network.
In recent weeks, more than two dozen arrests have been made across the area, with seizures that include:
- Cannabis (ganja)
- Smack
- Heroin
- Brown sugar
Crackdown Reaches Vaishali
The anti‑narcotics drive has now extended into the neighbouring Vaishali district. Three days earlier, Ahiyapur police raided a location near Bairiya Bus Stand, confiscating 28.06 kg of ganja and arresting Mithun Kumar of Bhagwanpur.
Interrogations revealed additional suspects operating out of Vaishali. Earlier this week, a joint task force seized 185 grams of heroin and smack from three alleged couriers near Chandni Chowk. The individuals—Vikram Kumar, Sakaldeep Rai (both from Jadua, Nagar police jurisdiction) and Sonu Kumar Rai of Bidupur—have been taken into custody as the probe continues to uncover further links.
