Gurugram: After a week‑long hunt, Gurugram police have taken Kalyan Bainsla into custody in Dausa, Rajasthan. Bainsla had vanished following allegations that he deliberately rammed his car into the bike of female rider Siya on Golf Course Road.
Case registration and initial charges
Acting suo motu, investigators opened a formal case at the Sector‑56 police station. The complaint was first filed under Sections 281 and 125 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deal with negligent driving.
Video evidence reshapes the prosecution
A thorough review of CCTV and by‑stander's footage revealed that the vehicle was steered intentionally toward Siya’s Aprilia RS 457. The visual record showed the driver first signaling for her to halt, and when she continued, accelerating the car into her motorcycle. Based on these findings, police added Section 109 of the BNS—pertaining to attempted murder—to the charge sheet.
